About Art of hockey

Founded in Maryland and now based in Minnesota, Art of Hockey is a player development company with family roots in Central New York. Our training is built around creativity, hockey IQ, and game-transfer development, helping players build skills that translate beyond drills and into real game situations.

Meet Coach Keppler

Nick Keppler started Art of Hockey in Maryland in 2023 to create the kind of player development experience he believes the game needs more of: thoughtful, challenging, and built around how hockey is actually played.

Since then, he has coached players across youth, high school, and junior hockey, most recently serving as an Assistant Coach with the Minnesota Mallards (NAHL). His work focuses on helping players develop the skills, understanding, and confidence needed to perform in real game situations.

Hockey Development Camp in Syracuse & Central New York

Art of Hockey provides hockey camps, clinics, and player development opportunities for youth hockey players throughout Central New York. Our Syracuse-area hockey camps focus on skill development, hockey IQ, decision-making, confidence, and game-transfer training that helps players perform more effectively during games.

Located in Cicero, New York, our summer hockey camps welcome players from Syracuse, Liverpool, Baldwinsville, Clay, Oswego, Fulton, Skaneateles, Auburn, and surrounding Central New York communities. Every session is designed to help players improve their skating, puck skills, hockey sense, and ability to make plays under pressure.

Unlike traditional hockey camps that focus primarily on repetitions, Art of Hockey teaches players how to read the game, solve problems, and understand why plays work. Through skill stations, small-area games, competitive environments, and coach-guided instruction, players develop tools that transfer directly into real game situations.

Whether you're looking for a summer hockey camp in Syracuse, hockey training in Central New York, or opportunities to improve hockey IQ and confidence before the season begins, Art of Hockey provides a challenging, supportive environment for players who want to continue growing their game.
